Emslie
Rowan Emslie is the Chief Communications Officer at the independent think-and-do tank, Centre for Future Generations (CFG). He is responsible for the strategy and management of CFG’s external outputs, with a particular focus on getting science-based research and analysis on powerful emerging technologies to the key EU decision makers so they are able to make smarter decisions around the rollout of innovation in society. He is a well known commentator on European Affairs and the EU media landscape. Prior to joining CFG, he led European communications efforts for Clean Air Task Force, a science-based climate advocacy organisation, and helped shape their rapid expansion beyond the United States. His clients ranged from UN agencies to multinational corporations to regional NGOs. Rowan began his career by working in journalism and in human rights in East Africa and was involved in startups in Berlin and Nairobi before moving into European Affairs work.
