René Moerland is CEO of Rapporteur, the European media network specialising in EU politics and policy. Before joining Rapporteur in 2024, he spent more than two decades at the Dutch newspaper NRC, serving as editor-in-chief from 2019 to 2024. During his career at NRC, René also worked as EU correspondent in Brussels, political correspondent in The Hague and correspondent in Paris, and led its political, national and foreign desks. His experience spans political journalism, newsroom leadership and the transformation of European media for changing reader habits and digital distribution.
