David Mair is Head of Unit at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, where his work focuses on the science of democracy, public governance and public administration. He works on how scientific evidence can better inform policymaking, as well as citizen participation, deliberative democracy and organisational change in government. His recent work explores the relationship between AI, political persuasion and public trust, including how emerging technologies are reshaping the information environment and the way citizens, policymakers and institutions use and evaluate evidence.
