Nick Donig is the Secretary General of the European Forum Alpbach (EFA), the largest pro-European network for scholarship holders and thought leaders in the fields of democracy, the economy, science, security, art, and culture. Each year, around 5,000 participants attend the forum in the Tyrolean Alpine village of Alpbach. Nick’s career path has taken him from journalism and work as a foreign correspondent into the realm of corporate and political communications. He has worked in various political offices as well as for publicly listed companies and NGOs. Prior to his role at the EFA, he—a business administration graduate—spent many years as Secretary General overseeing communications and campaigning for the liberal party NEOS in Austria. A father of two adult daughters, he is personally committed to promoting childhood literacy, a cause he supports by serving as a reading mentor in Vienna.
