A new generation is entering political communication, bringing new skills and perspectives to a profession undergoing rapid change. But how does Gen Z perceive the political communication bubble? What do young professionals need to navigate current developments such as polarisation and the growing use of AI? Drawing on qualitative interviews with young professionals working in political communication, we share five key findings from a study conducted specifically for the Political Communication Summit 2026. The findings offer a glimpse into how the next generation sees the future of the profession and what today’s political communicators might learn from it.
